Is it Worth Golfing?

worth golfing

It’s a hard hit on me that the sport I really don’t fancy and enjoy watching is the most expensive. Owning a full kit can cost as high as KSh. 100,000. For you to register for a club membership you should be willing to part with KSh. 500,000. Golf is the game I am talking about and I am forced to mention Tiger Woods. His name sends a rush of adrenaline down my spine because I associate him with success and money.

I have been informed that Eldrick Tont Woods, born in 1975, turned a professional in 1996, is the youngest ever player to achieve a career Grand Slam, the youngest and fastest to win 50 tournaments in a tour, and the second after Jack Nicklaus to have achieved a Grand Slam three times. Forbes magazine once rated him the richest athlete on earth alive before his private life was shattered and he was forced to take a sabbatical turn.

Golf is such flamboyant game that it is no wonder it’s only played by the rich and mighty in the society. The connection between this game and successful business people has actually compelled me to know more about it.

It’s my unquenched interest that has pushed me out of my skin to know why there is such a strong link. Playing golf either as a professional or for fun is cemented by passion to achieve the best. It needs intensive and consistent training so as to be sharp and be able to focus. People who are passion driven easily nail a deal rightly and score where many have failed before.

The adventure of technology has virtually made it impossible to disconnect from people. You need to network with people all the time. The resource and human capital is so investable to ignore anyone who wants success, so these people meet regularly at the golf course clubs not only for leisure but also as a source of getting into a new network.

Age also favors them; and so you can be any old octogenarian but you can still find some energy for golf. It’s not a physically-exerting game so all you need to do is keep fit and you’ll be good to tee-off.

It’s also an advertising platform for your business as well. You’ll definitely get the chance to exchange pleasantries in the course of the game. I am informed that a golf match can last for only four hours and the entire part of is a talk-shop by the participants.

Indulging in golf just like any other game has been a means for corporate social responsibility. Companies investing in sports as a way of identifying with society would like to increase their footprints, make more sales, and improve their market dominance. So playing golf is okay, but what you need to do is to diversify your thinking for it to open your investment ideas.
