Christmas spirit at KuzaBiashara HQ

Christmas spirit at KuzaBiashara

As a little kid, I used to hear of Santa Claus, and also see him in the movies and on TV shows where he would usually sneak up on roof tops and drop bags of presents inside chimneys of little kids’ homes. This often made me ponder why he never came to drop presents inside my chimney at Christmas time. Now that I am much older, I now know he is a fictional character, just like the Easter Bunny and Big Foot, created to compliment the season at hand. The thought of ever coming face to face with Santa never really occurred to me and I never imagined that something like this can actually happen – until the month of December 2012 when I saw, not one, but several Santas at KuzaBiashara HQ.

Before you get too confused let me tell you how this happened. This is the first company that I am working for, and this was my first office Christmas party. The week of the party, I did hear rumours going back and forth that it was indeed going to be a Christmas party like no other, but I stuck to wait and see. Came Friday, and the whole office was in a frenzy mode with deliveries starting to stream in, from food, drinks, and the décor. To tell you the truth, I didn’t really expect it to be very different from other corporate parties that are usually quite formal and rigid, and saturated with many speeches.

However at KuzaBiashara, with the kind of diverse and radical personalities present at this office, there is no way this was going to be an ordinary party. Mind blowing is how I can best describe the way this end-of-the-year party was like. It was hectic all over the place with some people barbecuing meat in the back area, better known as “Bahamas” because its the best relaxation spot we have around this place. The others were busy preparing the side dishes and accompaniments for the main course meal, and the rest working on entertaining us with awesome music. The others, well, they just danced around beating the huge drum we had, fooling around having a good time. By this time every one was in their Santa hats, so many Santa Clauses could be seen here, all in their “ho ho ho” mood making jolly good noise. Finally my childhood dream of meeting Santa had finally come true; it warmed my heart to see so many of them at one go. I will cherish this moment for a very long time.

After all was all set, we got around, took pictures of everyone in their cute Santa hats, sang Christmas songs and gave each other season’s greetings hugs. The food was terrific, made by KuzaBiashara’s own staff,  and the accompaniments made it one of those meals you feel so much nostalgic every time you think about it. To crown the moment, a lovely white forest cake wowed the crowd there. It had to be at least 7kg of pure sweetness which I savoured each moment of every bite I had.

It has been a great year, and the team here has accomplished so much, and gained to much mileage in the quest to make our goals a reality. The year has had its ups and downs, but the KuzaBiashara family supported one another and helped each other pull it through the rough storms.

We thank all our customers, clients, and partners for walking with us in this great year – a toast to them, and may it be business as usual come 2013.
