In her very inspiring talk at the China Meets Africa forum, Laura Akunga, MD, Benchmark Solutions Company Ltd, talks about the genesis of her company, the shift of the African economy and the future of Africa.
She believes it is a new scramble for Africa where a lot of human activity has risen from other parts of the world. Benchmark Solutions alone made exports to China worth $250m in five years time which is quite encouraging for young entrepreneurs. She asks people to dare to dream with her – “Africans will no longer reach out for a hand out, we will be giving a hand out to other economies, I believe we can do that. I think it’s time reversing the rules,” is how she exudes her confidence.
