My transformation with Kuza Biashara

Untitled-131

span class=”dropcap”>After high school, I had expectations of going to college. Unfortunately, I didn’t because my dad was dismissed from his job and he was the only one who could pay for my college fee. I then started searching for any manual job out there but I didn’t find any. Then by chance I started helping a neighbor in her kiosk as a shopkeeper. She loaned me some money and I started my own vegetable kiosk.
Later, I realized how people used to walk long distances going for vegetables, which was a blessing in disguise since this helped my business to grow quickly and in just less than two months I had a net amount of Sh3000 by end of 2008, with many customers with orders from nearby schools. My success came to an end however when my kiosk was burned down and my stock taken all away during the post-election violence in 2008. I was very depressed and refused to start up another kiosk because of the fear of my goods being destroyed again.

I had to look for another job which I got as a house help in Njema Court apartments, Church Road in Westlands. I worked there for a couple of months though underpaid and over-worked, but I didn’t give up until I had a serious disagreement with my co-worker, because I had no time to spend with my children. This resulted in me quitting the job. Before this I had met up with Mr. Sriram and although I didn’t know him I believe he was God sent. I believe it was a miracle I met him, because he got me out of my current situation.

The man was so kind to me and asked me whether I could work part-time for him, ironing clothes for some money to which I agreed, but I was cautious because he was a stranger to me.

He asked for my mobile number and I gave it to him and from then on we communicated whenever he wanted some clothing ironed for him.

He had promised to offer me a job sometime soon, so I was very heart broken when he disappeared for almost a year during which I didn’t hear from him at all. I did not loose hope and had much faith in this man fulfilling his promise to me one day.

True to his word, he did not forget me and on April 1, 2012, at around 8 am I received a text message from him asking me whether I have a job currently, and if I did not, I should contact him, which I did.

I did get the job and I’m so grateful to him for fulfilling his promise to me. Today I work with Kuza Biashara. Through him believing in me, I have learned how to use a computer and even attend meetings with my fellow colleagues which I had never done before.

I am happy with where I am today, and very glad for this opportunity. Thank you.
