Looking out for opportunities and overcoming road blocks

Untitled-183

Nicky had her lecturer come in for her evaluation, this is in regard to her graduating. The meeting was very insightful till the moment when I turned it over and had her now discuss the way forward for partnership. She told me about the wonderful opportunities at Daystar that I immediately saw as a potential partnership ground for interns etc. This was a great experience for me as I learnt that anything can be turned into an opportunity. If I had gone in with one mind of completing the review and leaving it would have been a loss to the company
Another lesson I learnt was on the need and importance of escalation especially when in tough positions. Our bank account manager was not around to conduct a normal day to day transaction for us and the other account managers had kept us waiting for over 2 hours to process the same transaction. I got agitated from all the time wasting as we all know “time is money” I went up to the Corporate affairs manager and lodged a complaint that ensured our transaction was completed in 5 minutes. It is important to escalate issues especially when you can’t handle it at a lower level.
